Where to see her: "Youth in Revolt"
What she's done: Prior to her potential-breakthrough performance in "Youth in Revolt," Doubleday hadn't worked much. In 1997, the actress had a bit part as young Margaret in the forgettable "Bram Stoker's Legend of the Mummy." She recently starred in a short film, "18," which debuted at AFI, about a young woman who must decide whether to remove her mother from life support.
What she's playing: Doubleday stars as Sheeni Saunders, an intellectual teen who captures the fascination of Nick Twisp (Michael Cera), a cynical, sex-obsessed 14-year-old who meets Sheeni while on vacation. When Nick realizes she is not interested, he comes up with an alter ego named Francois who has a mustache, a deeper voice and an edgy attitude to help him in his pursuit of Sheeni.
