MUSIC REVIEW: Snoop Dogg - 'Malice N Wonderland'
Somehow, it's been more than 15 years since the release of Snoop's "Doggystyle," the genre-defining masterpiece that's helped shape gangster rap ever since. In the intervening years, Snoop's had his share of hits (last year's smash "Sensual Seduction") and misses (er...the movie "Bones," anyone?), but his status as a hip-hop elder statesman has stayed (nearly) intact.

Don't trust the haters, who'll tell you that on "Malice N Wonderland" the Dee-Oh-double-Gizzle doesn't break new ground: That's plain fact. But just like any rock band whose appeal lies in consistency (see: Foo Fighters, Tom Petty), what's great about Snoop Dogg is that now, 10 albums in, you know what to expect.
